Privacy Policy

Account & profile: if you register, we process email, display name, and authentication identifiers from our auth provider.

Planning data: recipes you select, servings, cupboard flags, and planner grid snapshots may be stored locally and, if you enable cloud sync, on our backend database.

Technical data: device type, app version, coarse logs, and security telemetry to keep the service reliable and secure.

We process personal data on the lawful bases of contract (to deliver the service you request), legitimate interests (to secure and improve Meal Pilot, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights), and consent where required (e.g. non-essential cookies - see our Cookie Policy).

We do not sell your personal data. We use processors (e.g. hosting, analytics if enabled) under data-processing terms compliant with UK GDPR.

We use essential cookies for session and security. Optional analytics or preference cookies are described in our Cookie Policy and controlled where the preference centre is available.

Under UK GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability (where applicable), and objection to certain processing. You may lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk). To exercise rights, contact our Data Protection Officer at dpo@mealpilot.co.uk.

Erasure requests: we will delete or anonymise personal data unless law requires retention (e.g. accounting records).

We keep planning snapshots while your account is active and for a reasonable cooling-off period after deletion to recover from accidental erasure, then purge unless law requires otherwise.

If processors store data outside the UK, we use appropriate safeguards such as UK IDTA / Addendum or adequacy regulations.
